There were a lot of people who thought that big changes would come with the 2017 Subaru WRX STi and Subaru WRX. Expected changes included a five door hatchback, new look on the exterior and a new 2.0L turbo boxer engine to take over from the 2.5L.
In reality none of the above was seen on the 2017 Subaru WRX STi and you would have expected this to have had an impact on the sales of the vehicle. Wrong.
While there really hasn’t been much by way of notable changes, apart from certain models having extra by way of safety features, fans of the Subaru have been snapping the 2017 Subaru WRX STi up as fast as the company can make it.
In fact not long after the 2017 Subaru WRX STi had been available for purchase; the company claimed their best sales ever in June and proved that thoughts of the new 2.0T had drifted away.
So much is the 2017 Subaru WRX STi in demand that the plant in Japan that produces the vehicle is working around the clock to be able to meet demand. The plant in Lafayette in Indiana is undergoing a revamp with the hopes of it being able to alleviate the stress of getting vehicles out to the waiting public.
So if sales of the 2017 Subaru WRX STi are doing this well right now, can you imagine what they might have been when the new engine does come our way?
