Subaru WRX Slides Further Behind, Still Not Too Late

By  |

The Subaru WRX STi was seen as one of the best performance model in the market but the slow progress rate meant that their rivals had plenty of time to play catch up. They probably wished that they did not put their guard down now.

The Subaru WRX STi will soon have a new rival to face, the Ford Focus RS model which will be coming in with a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine that will allow the Ford Focus RS to push out about 345hp. It is estimated that the Ford Focus RS will be able to go from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 165mph.

The current Subaru WRX STI model runs on a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 305hp and will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway. Of course, it is never too late for Subaru but they will need to start taking things seriously now.

The Ford Focus RS is estimated to retail for $36,605.
