Subaru Crosstrek Isn’t A Crossover It’s a Tall SUV

By  |

Subaru have said that some departments within the company are changing names so as to make the electrification of vehicles more transparent. The first vehicle in the new electrified department may well be the Subaru Crosstrek plug-in hybrid.

The HEV Design Department has now been given a new name and this is the Electrified Power Unit Design Department. Changes are said to be in-line with development of a new global platform from Subaru. This platform was on the 2017 Subaru Impreza five door sedan, which is coming our way some time later this year.

We have also heard that a plug-in hybrid is going to be making its way to North America and that it is going to comply with zero emission standards for cars that are making their way out in 2018.

It is thought that a 3 seated crossover is going to be making its way to the US to take over from the Tribeca in the all-wheel line-up and that the vehicle will have the plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Subaru may be about to reveal a plug-in hybrid in 2018 in North America and this could be the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.
