Android N is going to be heading our way soon and the name of it is a bit of a sticky mess at the moment. It was said that it may be Android 7.0 Nougat but then it was also suggested that it may be called Nutella or perhaps Nachos. No one really knows what the OS might be called.
Talk has been going on for a long time that the N may be for Nutella, Nachos or Nougat or even something different. This is down to the fact that past Android versions have included Marshmallow, Jelly Bean and Lollipop. All these were named after sweet treats. The same should be for Android 7.0.
While there is talk about Android 7.0 Nougat coming our way many handsets still haven’t been given the update to Android Marshmallow. The first device to come with Android N should be a Nexus handset and then other devices will eventually get updated to it, maybe by the time a newer OS is out.
It was said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is coming in July and that it will have Android N installed. Other devices said to be getting updated to Android 7.0 Nougat include the Samsung Galaxy S6, Edge Plus, Note 4 and 5 and the S6 duo.
When Android 7.0 Nutella does come our way it should offer lots of new features. Including bundled notifications, improvements to Doze, multi-windows and direct-reply notifications.
