Yes, the Sony Xperia Z5 is finally going to be offered in the US. But should we be excited about it? While it is a few months late, the Sony flagship is still one of the top Android phones in the market so it was still good news for the Android users (or so we thought).

The arrival of the Sony Xperia Z5 will definitely benefit the US Android user but only if the device comes with the same spec. New reports now suggest that unlike the ones the other markets have been getting, the Sony Xperia Z5 that we will be getting will come without the fingerprint sensor.

Sony later came out to confirm that the fingerprint scanner will not be a part of the US version of the Sony Xperia Z5. While they did admit it, they did not give us an answer as to why they decided to remove the fingerprint scanner other than state that it was a “business decision”.

Some people seem to think that Sony might have forgotten to stock up on fingerprint sensors and decided to just leave it out. Sound off in the comments below regarding your thoughts on the phone.

No one uses the fingerprint scanner. I will buy because of the camera spec. Easily the best in class

I’ve got the Z5 with fingerprint scanner. It doesn’t work if your hands are sweaty so it’s just useless at work.
