Photos: Sony’s Google Nexus 5 With Android 5.0 KLP & Uber Clean Design (Concept)

Just before the LG Nexus 4 rolled out, there were rumors of a supposed Nexus Partner program which would allow more than one manufacturer to release a Nexus smartphone or tablet every year.

At the time, along with LG there were speculations that there would be a Sony and Motorola Nexus phone coming soon as well. The Motorola hopeful is now believe to the be smartphone just dubbed “X”. As for Sony, all eyes are now on the recently announced Sony Xperia Z to be the basis of the Nexus smartphone that will hopefully launch sometime later this year.

Now as we have already seen, the Sony Xperia Z is already a sexy looking Android smartphone and boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera. Other goodies include a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2700mAh battery and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

So what would a possible Sony Nexus 5 be like if it were based off the Xperia Z? Well for one the “5” could stand for many things – it is the fifth Nexus smartphone, it has a 5-inch 1080p display, and it will likely launch with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. As for its styling, one Reddit user had this interesting render which really cleans up the device. Check it out below:
