Owners of the PS3 have been waiting for the release of the first DLC for the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dragonborn. This would be the first DLC to be released on the console. Pete Hines, who is the Vice President of Bethesda, said that they are still working on the Dawnguard DLC and that they have only committed to releasing Dragonborn.
This comes as a blow to fans who were under the impression that a 3 DLCs were “commited” to be coming and that Dragonborn was first only because it was the easiest to get ready for the Sony console.
He gave a response on Twitter following an angry Tweet from a gamer who said:
@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went….
Hines responded with this powerful statement:
@Kyle_lobcity no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet.
Given what we already went through with Dawnguard last year, “working” on it isn’t assuring at all. In fact it leaves the game developer open to just delivering Dragonborn and then saying that due to certain issues encountered, the remaining two DLCs won’t be making their way to the PS3.
I sure hope that’s not the case but given the attitude Bethesda has had towards the PS3, I wouldn’t be surprised.
