Owners of the PS3 have been waiting to get their hands on the three DLCs for Skyrim for a long time, ever since they came out on the PC and Xbox 360. Up to now they have been elusive for the PS3.
PS3: Skyrim Dragonborn, Dawnguard & Hearthfire DLC release date blocks removed
Bethesda have made promises that they would reveal more details about when owners of the PS3 might expect the DLCs, however up to now they have been quiet.
They did say that Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire would be coming out soon and Dragonborn would be making its way to the PC early in February. Xbox 360 owners already have the game on the Xbox 360.
Pete Hines has been on Twitter and given good news to owners of the PS3 saying that the 1.8 update to Skyrim along with the 3 DLCs have passed the Sony certification at Sony America and the certification in Europe is being finalised.
Hines did not give an exact date when the DLCs would be released, however as they have passed certification, it should be within weeks. This was exactly why Bethesda was holding back from giving a firm release date as they needed the green light from Sony first.
The DLCs could be available on the same day and so owners of the PS3 do have a lot to look forward to in the weeks to come.
As they have caught up almost with the PS3 version of the game, it is only a matter of time before Bethesda release a Game of the Year version with all of the DLCs. But this may have to wait as there is a new DLC on the way and we are waiting for its announcement.
