Update: Skyrim Dragonborn Release Date For PS3

By  |

Bethesda has said that owners of the PS3 will get their hands on Dragonborn early in 2013. Owners of the Skyrim game pointed out that on the game box it says that DLCs will be available for the game; however at the moment it is only Xbox 360 and PC owners who have seen any. Xbox 360 owners have 3 DLCs at the moment, so is there any wonder that those with the PS3 are fed up?

PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC release date likely not this month

Pete Hines and a game fan recently exchanged messages on Twitter. However the news wasn’t good for owners of the PS3. Bethesda is still not giving out any details about the Dragonborn DLC hence suggesting it is unlikely to arrive this month. Here is the conversation from Twitter.

@DCDeacon when can we be expecting dragonborn on ps3 I’m so tired of this whole mess.

@Kyle_lobcity will get you a date as soon as I can.

@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went..

@kyle_lobcity  no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon)

Colliers last world on the subject may sum up all PS3 owners thoughts as he said that “This is bulls—“

The blame cannot all be put on Hines of course. Bethesda have taken things seriously, while Pete Hines is not allowed to say anything unless they give the go ahead and it may be that they don’t even have a release date yet.

The Twitter exchange did tell us one thing and that is that Bethesda put the Dawnguard project on hold, allowing them to put all focus on Dragonborn. This however tells us that rumours of Bethesda releasing all three of the DLCs together, with a discount, are not going to happen. It was rumoured that this would happen as an apology for PS3 owners having to wait for so long.

Dawnguard will not be making its way to owners of the PS3 very soon. Bethesda has said that they chose to release Dragonborn first thanks to it being the best content. They didn’t want PS3 owners waiting for any longer. When the DLC has been released they will then pick up where they left off with Dawnguard and Hearthfire.

Of course PS3 owners are fed up now, they have been hearing the same thing since Bethesda released Dawnguard on the Xbox 360 in June.

Bethesda don’t seem to be very good at public relations. They always disregard questions and information tends to be very vague. Fans keep asking specific questions and they deserve answers that are specific.

PS3 owners were once again disappointed by Bethesda when waiting for the DLC for Skyrim. Bethesda had made it sound like the DLCs were on their way for sure, but they haven’t confirmed just when this may be. One user pointed out that they had paid just as much for the game as someone on the Xbox 360 had and yet they had not got a single DLC yet. The user also said that they would think long and hard before they purchased another game from the company.

At the moment the only DLC that is semi-firm for owners of the PS3 is Dragonborn, which Bethesda have said will be released early 2013. However bear in mind that this may mean anytime between now and April. For the time being all owners of the PS3 can do is sit tight and keep waiting for something positive to come by.
