Skyrim Dragonborn DLC Release Date For PS3 Slipping

By  |

Owners of the PS3 know that they will be getting their hands on the Dragonborn DLC early this year. They have been waiting for a DLC since purchasing the game and they have pointed out that it did say that DLCs would be available for Skyrim on the box. Dragonborn will be the first of the three DLCs to make their way to the PS3, while owners of the Xbox 360 have them all already along with two others.

PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn release date slipping

Pete Hines recently took to Twitter to talk with one PS3 owner who is not happy about the delay of the Skyrim DLCs. The conversation is not very good news for PS3 owners as at the moment Bethesda are not giving out information about when the DLC may be released. This may mean that we won’t see its release this month.

The Twitter conversation can be seen below.

@DCDeacon when can we be expecting dragonborn on ps3 I’m so tired of this whole mess.

@Kyle_lobcity will get you a date as soon as I can.

@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went..

@kyle_lobcity  no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon)

The PS3 owner made the last comment when he said that, “This is just bulls—t.”

Hines cannot be blamed for the lack of communication and it seems that Bethesda is taking things seriously. Pete Hines cannot make a comment without having permission to do so and you do have to consider the fact that Bethesda may not have a release date yet. All they said was that it would be out early 2013 and this could mean anytime within this month or up to April or May in fact.

The Twitter conversation did reveal one thing and that is that Dawnguard has been put on hold at least for the time being. This has been so Bethesda could work on getting Dragonborn out. What this means is that the rumours about the DLC packs being released together will probably not pan out and the DLCs will not arrive weeks apart.

However those who own the PS3 are getting fed up of waiting and hearing Bethesda repeat the same thing over and over. This has happened ever since they released Dawnguard on the Xbox 360. This happened to be way back in June of 2012.

One thing that Bethesda does seem to lack is public relation skills. They seem to disregard the direct questions and any info they hand out is vague. When fans ask questions that are specific they want answers that are specific.

Once again PS3 owners have been left disappointed while they continue waiting for the first DLC to come their way. Dragonborn has been promised by Bethesda but that’s all fans know at the moment, there is no release date. Bear in mind that those with the PS3 paid just as much for the Skyrim game as those with the Xbox 360, yet they haven’t got any DLCs.

So for the time being the only news about the DLCs for the PS3 is that Dragonborn is coming at some point in early 2013. This may be anytime from now until the middle of the year. PS3 owners will once again have to have patience and wait. And we suggest not holding your breath for a January release given that Bethesda did give Xbox 360 users a two weeks heads-up before the release of the DLC on the Microsoft console.
