PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC Release Date: February Talks Rise

By  |

As we cross the halfway mark of January, the big question now from PS3 fans is where is the Dragonborn DLC release date announcement? Xbox 360 users go their release date a full two weeks before the expansion pack was available. So if there is still no official PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC release date, hopes of a January release are out right?

Skyrim Dragonborn PS3 release date slides into February?

Bethesda did make one promise and that was PS3 users would see their first Skyrim DLC in “early 2013”. That of course means anything from now right until mid-2013 (June). So we could be looking at something as late as a May release date. However most fans didn’t think Bethesda would be so “cruel”. After all, they did state that Dragonborn was coming before Dawnguard and Hearthfire because it was the “easiest” of DLC packs to launch for the PS3. Well if it is easy, where is it already?

PS3 Skyrim fans have felt betrayed by Bethesda ever since the latest Skyrim game came out and the first DLC packs were released to the Xbox 360. Just like the Xbox 360 version of the game, the PS3 box cover also says DLCs will be made available. Given that the game is aging and there are already talks about a Skyrim 6 and 4th DLCs like Redguard, you’d think Bethesda would show some empathy to its PS3 fans especially when they are asked questions about the status of the DLC packs. The best way to sum up this relationship is via a Twitter conversation Bethesda’s Pete Hines recently had with a PS3 fan:

@DCDeacon when can we be expecting dragonborn on ps3 I’m so tired of this whole mess.

@Kyle_lobcity will get you a date as soon as I can.

@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went..

@kyle_lobcity  no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon)

The PS3 owner ended the tweets with, “This is just bulls—t.” And we will also be ending our hopes for a January Dragonborn release on that note. Now, all eyes on February.

Dwayne is a jack of all trades. Not only is he an executive editor and collaborates on many stories here at Autoomobile, but he also does artwork and handles the running of the website on a daily basis. We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
