There is some good news for those who have Skyrim for the PS3 and who are waiting for the PS3 Dawnguard and Hearthfire release dates. Product-Reviews reports that there is a third expansion with the name of Dragonborn and there is news that the DLC problems on the system have been solved.
Skyrim DLC 3 coming alongside PS3 Dawnguard, Hearthfire?
Dragonborn will be the new title of the DLC expansion pack for Skyrim and just like Dawnguard and Hearthfire, the name has shown up on file trademarks. Evidence of it has also been seen on the latest update of the system for PC owners.
What is most interesting of the discovery is a single line of code in the Skyrim 1.8 update beta which states ‘$DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT_PS3 DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT’. This could be an indication that Bethesda has managed to find a fix for all of their hardware issues on the PS3 in relation to getting Dawnguard up onto the system, which in turn then caused Hearthfire to be delayed.
Of course it is not uncommon for files related to other platforms to show up on internal PC codes. What’s interesting is that there is no specific code seen on the Xbox 360 relating to Dragonborn. This has led to some saying that Dragonborn could be exclusive on the PS3 version and that this could be seen as an apology for the crisis surrounding Dawnguard.
At the moment Bethesda has not made this official, but bear in mind that Hearthfire was uncovered in exactly the same way. The line of code has to be in there for a reason.
