Samsung Galaxy S8: Headphone Jack Bids Farewell

By  |

We are hearing plenty of rumours about what may come with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and not all of them are good if you happen to love the 3.5mm headphone jack. This is because we hear that the new Samsung handset might not be offering it.

The news about the removal of the headphone jack comes from a reliable source that is aware of the development and they said that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have the USB-C port for delivering audio. This is not to say that you cannot use the USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter though. Whether Samsung will think to include this as part of the package for the handset is unknown.

One good thing about the removal of the headphone jack is that the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be made thinner or they might give the handset a larger battery. Along with losing the headphone jack the device may also lose the big button that used to take centre place on the device and instead have support for soft key on the display.

It is thought that the home button is going to be given the boot as Samsung want to make larger versions of the Samsung Galaxy S8. By losing the home button they will gain screen space while being able to keep the same basic structure. Samsung is including the AI assistant with the name of Viv on the device and the handset should debut in Barcelona during February.
