Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G5: More Than Meets The Eye

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 look to be headed on a crash course at MWC 2016 and with that said the question is which Android smartphone will be more deserving of the title of best Android phone of 2016… so far.

Rumors have already taken off on a number of expected features but one that does stand out more than the rest is the IRIS scanner. Now before you think this is unnecessary technology do note that it is more accurate and easier to utilize than a fingerprint scanner – this includes setting it up as well.

At the moment both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are rumored to include the iris scanner and if either one does jump on it we can expect that they will certainly help push this technology into the mainstream. Of course the Samsung Galaxy S7 will do this better given the sales numbers expected and the likelihood for it to trickle down to other variants like the Galaxy Note and Edge series.

The leaked patents suggest that if the Samsung Galaxy S7 gets it then it will likely be a hybrid version – one that looks at the veins in your eyes as well to speed up detection and potential unlock of the device. The technology behind this has been in development for fifteen years so you can expect it to work well when it is finally introduced in a mainstream device like the Galaxy S7.

As for the LG G5, this is expected to be more of your normal iris scanner, not that there is anything wrong with it. At this time it is being worked on to apparently increase unlock speed, so we can expect it to work just as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 technology.
