The Samsung Galaxy S7 has found a back door into Daydream VR as we have seen the device running Google Daydream. This gives us a glimpse into what might just be in store for those who don’t have the Google Pixel.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 of course isn’t a Daydream ready phone, technically. However it does confirm that handsets are able to run the platform, apart from Pixel, providing of course that the device offers up hardware components that are capable of supporting VR and Google doesn’t put a stop to it.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Google Daydream and running on Android Nougat has the Exynos 8890 processor. Handsets in the US come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Apart from the processor everything else about the handset is the same.

Samsung launched the Android Nougat 7.0 beta program for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Edge, however at the moment this is only open to those in the US, UK, South Korea and China.
