There are some Samsung Galaxy S6 owners who don’t have any idea which Android version is on their device. Others are continually checking as they have to have the latest version as soon as possible. Updates generally come slowly to the device as opposed to pure Android devices, which usually get updated faster.
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 complained that it took forever for the device to be updated to Lollipop and they could only look on as LG G4 owners got the update. Samsung used to offer the Google Play Edition devices which had pure Android, but not now.
Samsung now offers the Good Lock app instead of them offering Google Play Editions. Owners had to wait for what seemed to be forever to get Marshmallow and this was also disappointing.
Samsung hasn’t offered the GPE handsets for over two years and they said they weren’t offering them anymore as they were not selling. So perhaps pure Android really isn’t all that it is cracked up to be.
