The Samsung Galaxy S3 is getting old now by device standards as it will be five years old. This is a handset that wasn’t all that well known for offering up great battery life, yet it is still around and in some aspects it can put the Samsung Galaxy S6 to shame.
Older handsets don’t get new updates so this means that the Samsung Galaxy S3 isn’t going to get Android Nougat officially. However thanks to the CM14.1 ROM the device has been given a new lease of life.
The CM14.1 ROM brings many of the features of Nougat to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and they work without any issues. You also don’t have to worry about issues with the battery of the older handset and you can get batteries for the device that offer as much as 7,000mAh.
Being able to replace the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is great, but the same cannot be said about the Samsung Galaxy S6 as you don’t get the choice. The S6 has poor battery life and owners have been left waiting for the update to Nougat and the hope that the battery life is alleviated. Along with battery drain the S6 suffers from overheating too.
So in some ways the Samsung Galaxy S3 is much better than the Samsung Galaxy S6 as you can swap out the battery and the S3 has Nougat and the many benefits that it comes with.
