Some people with the Samsung Galaxy S6 really don’t give much thought about the operating system on their handset. Others on the other hand are always checking to find the latest Android update as they have to get it as soon as possible and others just keep checking randomly and update when they get a message saying they can.
There are a few people who talk about the version of Android they have in the forums. Many owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 have been waiting for Lollipop to arrive for their device and those who have the LG G4 have been lucky enough to receive it, along with many others. Lollipop brought with it Doze and Google Now On Tap. We are not on Android 7 Nougat but not many owners have it yet.
Samsung used to offer Google Play Editions of handsets but now they have given up on them and gone with the Good Lock app. Some people are upset that pure Android isn’t offered but Samsung don’t seem to care.
The Android Marshmallow updated took forever to reach some handsets, including the Samsung Galaxy S6. However it does seem that the complainers are few and far between and there aren’t enough of them wanting pure Android, this means that Samsung would not profit from offering pure Android.
The Google Play Editions met their demise a few years ago and it did so as there weren’t that many people buying them. Pure Android often means that you have to forgo support, this was something that Sony found out wasn’t so good.
