Samsung Galaxy S6: Marshmallow Shown To The Exit

By  |

We have heard that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to get Android 7 Nougat a lot earlier than what had first been anticipated. If this proves to be true and it does arrive soon then Android Marshmallow will have had only a very short stay on the device, from March of this year.

We know that Samsung is working on the official update to Android 7 Nougat and the OS is going to head to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and this is going to please owners of the handsets.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is top priority for Android Nougat as you might expect following the demise of the Note 7. So all handsets are going to be bumped up and should receive Nougat far quicker than what was first thought when the Note 7 arrived.

The beta version is already released for Android 7.0 Nougat for the S7 and S7 Edge, so it shouldn’t be too much longer before it heads to the older Samsung Galaxy S6. The S6 and S6 Edge both offer up the Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and come with 3GB of RAM. The handsets offer the 5.1 QHD AMOLED display and 32GB of storage.

So do you own the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge and are you happy about the downfall of the Note 7 as it means that you will get the update to Android 7.0 Nougat much earlier than anticipated?
