As with every new phone upgrade that comes about, it is natural to assume that the newer model is a better buying decision. However this isn’t the case with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the S6.
A recent Consumer Reports story reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S5 still gets a higher rating than the S6. This is because of a number of reasons.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S6 boast ultra sharp displays and ca be charged quite quickly with efficient battery life. But there are a couple of things that the Samsung Galaxy S6 has that caused it to lose some points and fall below its ancestor.
CR penalized the Samsung Galaxy S6 first because it looks a lot more like the iPhone than previous versions. Other shortcomings it had over the Galaxy S5 were its non-removable batteries and memory. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is not water resistant unlike the Galaxy S5.
Bottom line is both smartphones have their pluses but the Samsung Galaxy S5 is not exactly inferior to the S6 despite its age.
