It is not unusual to compare handsets that have just come onto the market or which are coming soon. In the latter category are the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC M7. There have been many leaks and specs rumoured about these two devices, however at the moment they are not official. So let’s take a look at the two unicorns of handsets.

Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC M7

Both devices are Android and they should be a success. As the devices have not been confirmed at the moment we can only tell you about the specs that have been rumoured.

The release date for the HTC M7 is thought to be in Q1 and there is speculation that it will be announced at the MWC, which is held in Barcelona in February on the 25th to 28th. The handset should be on the shelves soon after this. There has been another rumour that the handset will be released at a separate event on 19th February.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is thought to be making its way out in the spring and the handset is widely anticipated. There has been rumours that we might see it at the Samsung Unpacked event, which will be held on 22nd March, with the device possibly being available around 15th April. We have seen a leaked image of the handsets with the date of 22nd April on it. However whether the image is genuine remains to be seen.

The HTC M7 could beat the Samsung Galaxy S4 onto the market; however both of the devices should be here very soon. In regards to specs all we can go in is what has been rumoured. The HTC M7 is said to have the Qualcomm quad core processor of 1.7GHz, a display of 4.7 inches in full HD at 468ppi, 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage internally. The device may have a camera of 13 megapixels that can take video at 1080p and it may have a camera of 2 megapixel on the front. The camera could have an image sensor that allows users to take video in super slow motion. It may have connectivity for LTE and a battery of 2300mAh. The device is thought to have Jelly Bean, which will either be 4.1.2 or 4.2 and of course it will come with Sense 5. When it comes to looks it may have a unibody of aluminium.

There have been a lot of specs rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S4. It has been said to have the Exynos Octa 5 processor which has two quad cores, a display of 4.99 inches that has full HD Super AMOLED display, along with 2GB of RAM. It is thought that it may have a camera of 13 megapixels, with one of 2 megapixels on the front, and a battery of 2600mAh. The device may launch with Key Lime Pie if it is out, otherwise it would have Jelly Bean 4.1.2, along with the Touch Wiz of Samsung. We have also heard rumours of the display being flexible, wireless charging, choices of black or white colours, S Voice that has been enhanced, Eye Scroll and Eye Pause. There has also been a rumour of the device having the S Pen stylus.

All of the above is a lot to take in and it is all speculation at the moment. However it does show that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC M7 will have a great deal to offer. We have seen images of what the Samsung Galaxy S4 may look like, however there is no way of knowing if this is the real deal. Both of the devices are thought to be coming to multiple carriers and they should both be top end devices with similar price tags, however at the moment there is no pricing yet.

It would be hard to choose between the two devices based on just leaks and rumours, so you will want to wait until there has been confirmation of the real specs. The Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC M7 see to be impressive handsets and they should give the user a superb experience.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
