Samsung has always strived to keep one step ahead of Apple’s iPhone when it comes to specs. However with the release of the iPhone 5 they may have some catching up to do if recent Geekbench benchmarks scores prove true.
Samsung of course attacked Apple with an ad campaign comparing their Samsung Galaxy S3 to the iPhone 5, and now it seems that they may be about to swoop in for the ultimate kill by launching the Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S4 well ahead of schedule, reports Bostinno.
Samsung Galaxy S4 rumors begin flying
At the moment rumours have it that the device will be released in February of 2013 and it will give Samsung a much needed boost after the holidays.
Samsung have not as yet confirmed any specs about the Samsung Galaxy S4 or even if they will be releasing it soon. However it is thought that it will come with a faster quad core processor, 5-inch Super AMOLED display and much improved battery life. This would make the 4 inch display of the iPhone 5 seem even smaller and the faster processor should tip benchmark scores back in Samsung’s favor. It is also rumored that it will have the latest Android OS, which will either be Jelly Bean or Android 5.0.
The battle between Apple and Samsung took a big turn when Samsung were ordered to pay out $1 billion in a patent lawsuit for infringing on Apple’s rights. This led to the stock of Apple jumping up. When Apple released the iPhone 5 it took more than 2 million pre-orders within 24 hours. However Bostinno suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S4 could prove to be serious competition for Apple and the iPhone 5 given that the S3 is already a tough rival. The Samsung Galaxy S3 sold more than 20 million units to date.
