The Motorola Droid RAZR M is the first of the next-generation RAZR phones to go up for sale and at the moment it is competing head to head with the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon. So just how does it match up to the Galaxy S3, with a price tag that is double?
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Motorola DROID RAZR M
The Motorola Droid RAZR M comes with 8GB of internal storage and it also supports SD card up to another 32GB. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and it also supports SD card but up to 64GB. The display of the Razr M doesn’t compete with the S3 for resolution either as it is 4.3 inches and 960 x 640, compared to the 4.8 inch display of the S3 with 1280 x 720.
While the displays are very different there are a lot of other similarities. Both of the devices in the US have a dual core processor, the Snapdragon S4, which has been clocked at 1.5GHz but there is 2GB RAM in the S3 while 1GB for the RAZR M. Both of the handsets start off with Android 4.0 ICS but there are updates to Jelly Bean soon for both handsets.
Both of the devices have a camera of 8 megapixels and LTE. However the Droid Razr M has the Kevlar back and looks better than the plastic of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The display of the Razr is near enough edge to edge which looks great as well.
The Motorola has Blur and the Samsung has TouchWiz interface, however Blur gives an almost stock Android experience. TouchWiz has been heavily skinned and it brings all the S features that the device is famous for. The greenish overtones do make it look like Gingerbread though. So in this respect, the choice is between a better looking skin versus a richer one.
Both of the devices are superb choices, so whichever you decide on, you will have a top of the range handset. The Motorola Droid Razr M may not be able to beat the Samsung Galaxy S3 overall but its more pocketable size and cheaper price tag will no doubt win some customers.
