Anyone in the market for a new Android handset may very well be tempted by the Samsung Galaxy S3, but there have been rumors of a hot new device coming to the market, the Motorola Droid Razr HD.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD vs Samsung Galaxy S3

So which of these two devices should you choose? Let’s take a look at what we know about the Samsung Galaxy S3 and what we think we know about the RAZR HD.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been very successful and is available on all of the major US carriers, while rumors are that the Razr HD will be announced very soon on Verizon. Of course while we know the specs of the Galaxy S3, we can only guess about the Razr HD based on leaks and rumors going around.

One of the factors that people take into account when choosing a phone is the look and design of it. If going on this alone then there is little doubt that the Razr HD would be the winner. Many have said that the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a somewhat plastic look to it whereas the Razr HD thanks to its Kevlar casing looks very stylish and gives the phone a very solid feel to it.

There has been criticism about the home button on the Samsung Galaxy S3, which some have said is outdated. Also with the handset running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich there is no need for it. Rumor has it that the Motorola DROID Razr HD will make use of the on-screen keys just like the Galaxy Nexus does.

Another consideration is battery life of the handset. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 2100mAh battery to power the 4.8 inch screen. The Razr HD is rumored to have a 4.6 inch display and a 2500mAh battery and if so it would beat that of the Galaxy S3 for talk time.

It has been suggested that the Droid Razr HD has a 13 megapixel camera and this would be great for those who use their phone as their main camera. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with an 8 megapixel camera that offers burst and zero shutter lag. Both of the devices are LTE ready and the S3 has the Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual core processor in the US and the international version has the Exynos quad core.

While the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a superb device it could be worth the wait for the release of the Droid Razr HD before making your mind up.

Also you may wish to consider the Galaxy Note 2, which is set to come out on 29th August and may be released with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
