One of the top selling handsets of 2012 is the Samsung Galaxy S3. However this could be soon short lived thanks to LG and the Optimus G which is bringing some serious hardware to the table. LG say that the device is the most powerful of handsets to come from them. So will it beat the Samsung Galaxy S3?
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs LG Optimus G (comparison)
The LG Optimus G comes with a TrueHD screen of 4.7 inches and 768 x 1280. It runs on the 1.5Ghz S4 Snapdragon quad core processor and it has a 13 megapixel camera on the front and a 1.3 on the rear. The device has 2GB of RAM and it has Android ICS and weights 145g. It measures in at 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm with a battery of 2100mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a superb Super AMOLED 4.8 inch display with 720 x 1280 resolution and is powered by the Exynos 1.4GHz quad core. It has an 8 megapixel back camera and a 1.9 megapixel on the front, it runs on ICS and has 1GB of RAM and weighs in at 133g. It is 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm and has a battery of 2,100mAh.
As you can see both of the devices match up pretty well and it will be a tough call over which to choose. The LG Optimus G has a better camera, is lighter and has more RAM. However will will need to put the camera to the test to be certain it tops the 8MP shooter on the Samsung Galaxy S3 (sensor size matters more than MPs). Looking at the S3, it has a quad-core processor versus the dual-core S4 in the LG Optimus G. But don’t let the 2 extra cores fool you, the Snapdragon S4 is equally as powerful and the extra RAM certainly helps.
