Samsung Galaxy S3 vs LG Nexus 4: LG Wins

By  |

Towards the end of last year the Samsung Galaxy S3 got updated to Jelly Bean. Google then released the LG Nexus 4 in November and this came with Jelly Bean 4.2. So just how does the device match up to the king of phones of 2012?

The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is Super AMOLED and is 4.8 inches. It has a resolution of 1280 x 720p and it has protection of Gorilla Glass. The LG Nexus 4 has a display of 4.7 inches that is True IPS and it comes with the same resolution of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The choice here will be down to what you want out of a device. The IPS display is best in direct sunlight while the Super Amoled display is poor. The LG Nexus 4 beats the Samsung Galaxy S3.

For storage the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and there is also support for SD card up to another 64GB. The LG Nexus 4 has 8GB or 16GB but it lacks storage expansion. The winner here has to be the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a camera of 8 megapixels and this supports LED flash and it comes with autofocus and records video at 1080p. The camera on the LG Nexus 4 has about the same specs; however the cameras on the front are different. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a camera of 1.9 megapixels, while the LG Nexus 4 has a camera of 1.3 megapixels. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S3 wins.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 1.4GHz quad core Exynos processor and this is matched with 1GB of RAM. The LG Nexus 4 has the Snapdragon 1.5GHz along with 2GB of RAM. This means that the LG Nexus 4 is the winner.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with Jelly Bean 4.1 while the LG Nexus 4 has Jelly Bean 4.2, which makes the LG Nexus 4 the winner.

Both handsets have batteries of 2100mAh and the one of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is removable while that of the LG Nexus isn’t.  This puts the LG Nexus 4 in the lead.

The looks of the Samsung Galaxy S3 are not helped as the device has plastic looks, while the LG Nexus 4 looks classier. While this is personal choice, the LG Nexus 4 is ahead here.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been the leader for some time now. However the LG Nexus 4 is a great contender to the throne and it does come with all the right things.
