Two of the greatest handsets are on the market at the moment. These are the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. There has been many comparisons made between the two devices, however here we are taking a look at which of the devices has the better battery life in real world usage.
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 battery life test
One of the main concerns when the iPhone 5 was released was about the battery life, as previous incarnations of the iPhone have not been into packing high capacity batteries and are always non-removable. The iPhone 5 comes with a built in battery at 1,430mAh while the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is removable and is 2100mAh.
Apple had said that the iPhone 5 has the best battery of any iPhone released to date and is seems that they were telling the truth. The tests undertaken on the two batteries included web browsing over Wi-Fi showed that with Verizon, the battery lasted 7 hours and 13 minutes. The iPhone 4S with Sprint lasted 5 hours and 54 minutes, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 was tested on Verizon and lasted for only 6 hours and 55 minutes. The iPhone 5 therefore lasted longer than either the S3 or the iPhone 4S. The device that did come top was the Droid Razr Maxx with 8 hours and 25 minutes.
This is quite surprising given that the specs sheet puts the Samsung Galaxy S3 at around 15 hours versus the iPhone 5 at just 8 hours. So it looks like real world tests prove they are almost identical.
