Typically when you compare handsets it is a matter of one handset winning more than the other in terms of hardware prowess, hence making it the winner. When you do a comparison of the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 this is not so.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5

Both of the handsets match each other when it comes to points for hardware and design. In regards to software this is a matter of personal choice as Android Jelly Bean and iOS 6 are very different. Today we take a look at some of the biggest advantages of the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it comes to software given that we cannot say which is the best purely on our personal preference.

If you decide to choose the Apple iPhone 5 as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy S3 then you miss out on features such as:

Better integration with Google apps with such as Voice, Drive, Plus and Much.

Choosing which apps you want to assign as default, such as making Chrome your default web browser.

Syncing would be easier as you would not have to use iTunes.

The resolution is not locked down due to different Android display sizes. On the Apple Store most of the apps are designed to be used with a display of 3.5 inches, which means you see black bars at top and bottom of the display on the iPhone 5. These will be update, however it is happening slowly.

While there are some disadvantages, there are also advantages if you decide to have iOS 6 and the Apple iPhone 5. These are:

The camera is fast to launch and taking photos is as well. This means you do not have the worry of shots being blurry or missing moments.

Switching apps is very fluid and it doesn’t matter what app this is and how “heavy” it is.

You can use iCloud backup. While Android has Google Drive and Titanium Backup, iCloud is more simpler and does full backups without intervention from your side.

Apple apps tend to be of better quality than those of Android. This is because there is better SDK, IDE and API and hence the same app appears more polished on the iPhone 5 than Samsung Galaxy S3.

So after reading all of this which of the two operating systems would be your choice, iOS 6 or Android Jelly Bean? The Apple iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy S3?
