iPhone 5 Or Galaxy S3? (Easy Infographic To Help You Decide)

The iPhone 5 could be pre-ordered from last night at midnight and it was so popular that Apple had to alter their shipping times to two weeks from one so as to be able to meet demand. They may even have to push it back to two or three weeks depending on how this weekend plays.

So the iPhone 5 is selling very well it seems and it sold out faster than the iPhone 4S, in just one hour compared to 22 hours for the iPhone 4S. AT&T have said that they will not ship for 14 to 21 business days and Verizon have now said that it will shipp on 28th September. The iPhone 5 has taken the share of Apple to an all-time high with the market value now at $648 billion. Apple expects to ship more than 10 million units before September is out.

Looking at the current smartphone market, its toughest competitor will be the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S3 beats the iPhone 4S in regards to hardware and features, even outselling it here in the US at the moment, which leaves it up against the iPhone 5.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display at 720 x 1280 pixels and runs Android 4.0 with an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean expected soon. It also has an 8 megapixel camera on the back.

The Apple iPhone 5 has a 4 inch Retina display at 640 x 1126 pixels with LED backlit IPS TFT and it runs the latest iOS 6 and it too has a superb 8 megapixel iSight camera. Now the folks over at MobilePhoneFinder have prepared a simple infographic which compares the Samsung Galaxy S3 to the Apple siblings – the iPhone 5 and 4S. Now unlike other comparisons which go into too much detail in terms of hardware, I found this one simplified enough to help the average consumer make their pick. Check it out below.

Not only is he an executive editor and collaborates on many stories here at Autoomobile, but he also does artwork and handles the running of the website on a daily basis. We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
