The Samsung Galaxy S3 is an impressive phone with its 8MP rear camera, auto focus and LED flash. There’s also the ability to record full HD 1080p, 30fps videos.
Now HyperX – a developer that works on custom ROMs – has released a new and exciting Samsung Galaxy S3 modification that increases the 1080p to an amazing 30Mbit in superfine mode. This is alongside the 192Kbit audio.
Samsung Galaxy S3 camera mod bumps up video & capture quality
There’s also a 24 Mbit fine mode and 19 Mbit normal 1080p mod along with a 19 Mbit superfine 720p mode, 15 Mbit fine and 10 Mbit normal modes. These also use 192Kbit audio recording and HyperX is also (according to sources) trying to include 60fps for all resolution. This would mean users could take photos while on the phone as well. Users will also be able to take a snap while recording a video by using the volume keys. The camera will also feature touch focus, face and smile detection, geo-tagging, image stabilization and the simultaneous recording and photography. One drawback is, however, that once battery dips below 15%, these camera mods can’t work.
Alongside this amazing camera, the Samsung Galaxy S3 also features S-Voice, Smart Alert, Smart Stay and Social tag. It runs Ice Cream Sandwich and has a quad-core Exynos 4212 1.4GHz chip.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is consistently coming out top in reviews and was mega-hyped in the first half of the year. It’s the UK’s top handset right now, and leads the way in terms of features and specs. To grab this camera mod, go to XDA Developers forums and look for the GS3 “Superfine Camera” mod thread.
