When Android 4.2 was released, instead of it being Key Lime Pie it was a somewhat minor update and retained the Jelly Bean name. But despite being low key it did come with some new features.
Unfortunately at the moment most Samsung device owners are still waiting to get updated to the previous version of the software which is 4.1. If you are with Rogers in Canada then the news is good as the update is coming to some of the older devices very soon and these include the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2, along with the Galaxy S3.
Android Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3, S2 & Note
Owners of the devices are now hoping that there will not be any delays on the updates. Rogers have said that their LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get the update at some time during this month. The Samsung Galaxy Note and the S2 will then follow on and should have the update in December, with the S2 being the first of the latter two devices.
News of the updates came out when a Jelly Bean ROM was leaked online for the Samsung Galaxy Note and also rumours spread that the device may be stuck with the 4.1 update as it might not be updated to 4.2 ever.
Samsung have enjoyed superb sales for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and due to this most folks believe that this will be the only of the trio to get the Android 4.2 bump. The update should also ensure that the Samsung Galaxy S3 sells well going in to the New Year.
