When Google announced Android 4.2 Jelly Bean it turned out that instead of it being a total rework of the operating system it was just a refresh. However it did bring with it many new features. In the meantime many owners of handsets running Android ICS are still waiting for the update to Jelly Bean 4.1. There is good news if you are with Rogers in Canada as they are releasing the Jelly Bean update for some of their older devices, which include the Samsung Note and the Samsung Galaxy S2 alongside the Galaxy S3.
Rogers Canada firms up Jelly Bean update release window for Samsung Galaxy S3, S2 & Note
The carrier passed on the news of the update through Samsung and let’s keep our fingers crossed that the update comes out without false starts. Rogers have given confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE will get Jelly Bean updated towards the end of this month, but if you own the Samsung Galaxy Note you will have to wait just a little bit longer as it is set for December. Owners of the Galaxy S2 will also get it within the same month as the Note.
News about the update came out following the leak of a Jelly bean ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Note, along with a rumour that the device may only be getting updated to Android 4.1.2, as opposed to Android 4.2.
So far sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3 have been excellent for Samsung and they should continue in 2013 thanks to the device getting an update to 4.1 Jelly Bean.
