Recently The Inquirer posted its official review of the popular Samsung Galaxy S3 which has sold more than 20 million units around the world and dominates the smartphone market at the moment. It also draws consumers away from the HTC One X, possibly the most powerful Android smartphone on the market before the S3 had arrived.
Samsung Galaxy S3 gets a whopping 9/10 score (review)
The Inquirer gave the Samsung Galaxy S3 a mind-blowing 9 out of 10. Now in case you aren’t aware, such a high ranking is quite rare. In fact, we never saw the blog give such a score to the Samsung Galaxy S2 nor the original S. In fact the only thing that came close was the iPhone 4. So what made it deserve such a ranking? Let’s take a look at some highlights from the lengthy review.
The design of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is sleek and curved and has a metallic trim that is high end despite the use of plastic. It is light and sits nicely in the hand, much better than the iPhone 4S or the One X in this respect. The screen is flush with the casing and so the device is easy to use when swiping.
The display is 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD 1280 x 720 resolution and it beats the screen of the HTC One X with vibrancy. The images and text are clear and easy to read and the viewing angles are impressive. It also makes the iPhone 4S look puny in comparison.
The handset is power by a 1.4GHz processor and there is no lag. The handset has a 2,100mAh battery which does well and gives around 6 hours of use. The Samsung Galaxy S3 runs on ICS, with the Jelly Bean update coming soon, and over the top is the Nature TouchWiz overlay with seven home screens. The handset runs S Voice which is like Siri but sounds more human. S Beam allows users to share information through NFC. The camera is 8 megapixels and comes with zero shutter lag and is one of the best on a smartphone. It also captures video in 1080p and can take pics at the same time as recording video, something the iPhone 4S and many other Android smartphones are incapable of.
In short the Samsung Galaxy S3 gets 9 out of 10 as it is at the top of the class. Check out Inquirer’s full Samsung Galaxy S3 review here.
