Canadians waiting to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have to wait a little longer as it has been delayed once more, reports MobileSyrup. The launch of the much anticipated handset is now set for June 27th.
Samsung Galaxy S3 release date delayed further in North America
The Android smartphone has already had more than 9 million pre-orders around the world and almost every carrier will be supporting it, including TELUS, Bell, Rogers, WIND, Mobilicity, SaskTel, Videotron and Virgin Mobile. The phone was to launch on the 20th June but Samsung Canada have now said that there is a delay for the launch of one week which takes it to 27th June.
The reason for the delay according to Samsung is down to unprecedented demand for the handset. Even before the handset is available in Canada, carriers along with retailers are offering their customers the chance to register on the net for updates; some are also offering the option of pre-ordering the handset. Samsung say that they were expecting the shortage of the handsets to be short lived due to the fact that production has been ramped up to meet the unprecedented demand. The delay of course means that customers in Canada will now have to wait another 10 days before getting their hands on the 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD screen with the stunning 8 megapixel camera with zero shutter lag. It is however well worth the wait.
On side note, it isn’t Canada only that sees a delay in the Samsung Galaxy S3 release date. Recent reports from Droid-Life suggest that the US may also see a delayed launch of the S3. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
