Google revealed Android 4.2 Jelly Bean last week and instead of it being a rework of the OS, it has had a light refresh and gets some new features. However in the meantime flagship Android handsets are waiting for updates to 4.1 Jelly Bean and it seems that Rogers in Canada will be offering the update to Jelly Bean for older devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Note too.
Rogers: Jelly Bean release date for Samsung Galaxy S3, S2 & Note finalized
It seems that the carrier has passed this news on via Samsung and owners of Galaxy handsets are now hoping that they will get the update without any false starts. Product-Reviews points out that Rogers has confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE version should be getting the update towards the end of the month and those who own the Samsung Galaxy Note will have to wait a little longer until December. The same will apply for those with the Samsung Galaxy S2.
This news came following a Jelly Bean ROM that leaked for the Samsung Galaxy Note and the rumour that Samsung may just update the device to Android 4.1.2 (not 4.2).
Samsung have enjoyed excellent sales of their Galaxy S3 so far this year and the news of the update to Jelly Bean will mean that the device will continue to sell well in the New Year.
