Samsung could have many more aces up its sleeves that would be in contention with Apple’s new iPhone 5. It is thought that they may be launching a smaller version of their current flagship handset the Galaxy S3, a pure Google version of it, the Galaxy Note 2 phablet and lastly a Galaxy S2 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S3 to be joined by S3 Mini, Nexus “Superior, Note 2 & S2 Plus to fight iPhone 5(rumors)

The DroidGuy has said that Samsung may be getting ready to launch their Galaxy S3 Mini around the same time that Apple launch their latest incarnation of the iPhone – the iPhone 5. This would mean a launch in October. The Galaxy S3 Mini is thought to be aimed at those who want a smaller display and find the 4.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S3 unpocketable.

The S3 Mini is thought to have a screen of 4 inches and it will be Super AMOLED. It should have a dual core processor and price tag in the region of $200.

It is also thought that Samsung may be bringing out the Galaxy S2 Plus which would come with a 4.5 inch AMOLED display, dual core processor and a 1.5GHz processor. It may also have an eight megapixel camera and it should come with Jelly Bean, Android 4.1 out of the box. This is thought to launch about the same time as Apple plan to launch the iPhone 5 too. Samsung will unveil both of the devices at the Unpacked Event which is to take place on 29th August in Berlin, the even that was once thought scheduled for only the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Speaking of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the 5.5-inch phablet is rumored to arrive ahead of the iPhone 5 as well, leaving only the last of rumored Galaxy siblings to join  the party late – the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 “Superior”. According to speculations, this will be the successor to the current Nexus and will be based on the Galaxy S3 but with direct Google ties i.e. no TouchWiz UI and hence much faster updates. It is rumored for an October-November release.
