Rumors surrounding the next Nexus handset are heating up. SamMobile has said that the next Nexus device from Samsung will be nothing more than a minor upgrade from the current Galaxy Nexus that is already out and that it may be Google’s interpretation of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 will be a Galaxy S3 clone
It is thought that the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus with the model name of GT-i9260 may have a similar sized screen but the processor will be 1.5GHz as opposed to 1.2GHz. It will still be a dual core instead of going up to a quad core. It is also thought that the camera will be boosted from the 5 megapixel to an 8 megapixel and the front camera will be a 1.9 megapixel instead of the 1.3 megapixels. It may have 16GB of internal storage and there will be support for expansion.
There is a rumor that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 would be cheaper than the current model and this would fall in line with the strategy of Google to get their devices into as many hands as possible. Samsung is also well known for offering cheaper handsets.
So is the rumored device from Samsung going to be among one of the five that are said to be released before the end of the year? Or could this be the only device that is going to released and it’s only a minor upgrade?
Whatever it may be, the thought of a new Nexus phone based on the Samsung Galaxy S3 but with a cheaper price tag and running the latest OS (Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie?) seems like in a winner in our book.
