Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini A Big Disappointment, No iPhone 5 Killer

By  |

It seems that Samsung have got a little confused about the announcement for the new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini as the head of mobile communications, J.K. Shin went ahead and confirmed ahead of schedule that the mini would be unveiled in Germany.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini specs show it’s no iPhone 5 killer

To put an end to the rumours and leaks we have been hearing for some time now, here are the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini reports Droid-Life.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will have a WVGA Super AMOLED display of 4 inches and it will have a 1GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. It has a 5 megapixel camera on the back and support for NFC. It runs on a battery of 1500mAh and has 16GB of storage built in, with the option of adding on external storage via a microSD card. The Galaxy S3 Mini will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Some may be disappointed by the specs, as they are not the top specs that everyone associated Android devices to have. Rumors from earlier this month were suggesting that it would be a shrunken down version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 that would then compete against the iPhone 5 which shares a similar sized display.

On the other hand it could be Samsung’s way of taking over the middle tier market in the same way that they have done with the top tier. So are you disappointed over the specs and were you hoping for the same as the Samsung Galaxy S3 with just a smaller display? At the moment there is no availability on pricing and of course the price could be the deal breaker when deciding whether the device is a disappointment or not.

As for those who found the Samsung Galaxy S3 too big and were contemplating going for the iPhone 5 instead, it looks like you may be safe to do so now.
