The non-official Android Marshmallow has been rolled out for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3, and it’s all thanks to CyanogenMod’s nightly-build updates (which are also based from Marshmallow). Though one should still use in caution due to the uncertainty in terms of stability, and they could even be sluggish to a certain extent. And do you think there will be updates for the S3 on AT&T, Verizon and Lot? We’ll get to that in a while.
There is, though, an update for Sprint users (despite the fact that they’ll have to bear consequences from the Stagefright exploit), especially since S3 owners are still kind of like stranded on Android KitKat across the board. So, if you haven’t got yours updated, you can follow these steps: Settings > About Phone > Software Update, and you’ll be enjoying your update in no time.
It’s no surprise that Samsung has officially ruled out the possibility of rolling out Lollipop to the S3 devices, as much as it’s also not surprising if you’re expecting that your Galaxy S3 will be updated on AT&T, Verizon, and Lot. That’s because it just ain’t happening.
