Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with Sprint and T-Mobile have been enjoying the update to Jelly Bean, however those on Verizon, US Cellular and AT&T continue to wait for news and at the moment nothing has been said about the update.
US Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update still pending for Verizon, AT&T and US Cellular
Bear in mind that AT&T and Verizon happen to be two of the largest carriers in the US. Both have also got a bad track record when it comes to pushing out updates to Android phones in a timely manner.
Right now there has not been any news of when owners can expect to get their Samsung Galaxy S3 updated to Jelly Bean and neither has either of the two carriers given any explanation or reason why the Jelly Bean update is taking so long to come.
It is thought that all versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Canada will get the Jelly Bean update today and this should be going out OTA or users can update through KIES. The majority of owners of the S3 in Europe and South East Asia have already received the update to Jelly Bean 4.1.
Given the bad track record of the remaining US carriers, we wouldn’t be surprised if it is January before an announcement is made.
The update will bring with it a host of new features including Project Butter. This ensures that the device runs smoothly. There is also Google Now, new widgets and notifications that have been improved.
