Updates for Android handsets are always something of a long drawn out affair. At the moment around 2% of users have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There were rumors about the update coming to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and now it seems that it finally will as it has begun to hit numerous regions this month.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update rolling out around the globe
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 have been patiently waiting for the release of the update and last month those in Poland got the update. AndroidPolice have been saying that owners in Sweden have started getting the update through KIES too.
The update is the official one with the build being 4.1.1 I9300XXDLIH and it looks like it will be available for unlocked devices. It is hoped that bugs which showed up in the update in Poland have been eliminated. More than likely other countries in Europe should also get this update.
Sammobile has said that users in the majority of countries will have the update to Jelly Bean by the end of the month. Samsung too said on their Facebook page that they would have the update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 by the end of October.
However if you live in the US you may have to wait a while longer as its not known if Jelly Bean will arrive at the same time. The release should be close though and a version of the update for Sprint was leaked on the internet already. It seems that the US Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the last to get Jelly Bean.
