Rumors are flying around that owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone will have to wait up until next month for the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update in September, S2 & Note before 2011-end
The latest speculation says that the update is ready and is undergoing tests. The Samsung Galaxy S3 will get the update towards the end of September 2012 and it will give users many new features including Google Now, TouchWiz and a much smoother interface. It should also cover with some bug fixes which users have been having issues with.
The same rumors from sources said that the update will then go out to the Samsung Galaxy S2 along with the Samsung Galaxy Note. It is thought that Samsung will send out a value pack update, as opposed to the full Jelly Bean update in Q4 to these devices. Both of the devices are of course capable of receiving and running the full update of Jelly Bean Android 4.1, so we will just have to bide our time and see what Samsung choose to do.
Given that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean hasn’t even made its way to Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus users, a September release date for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is considered fast. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
