Everyone likes to receive a new update to their handset and if you are a Samsung Galaxy S3 owner then here is some good news for you. If you are on Telus, Bell or Rogers you can look forward to the SGS-I747M maintenance update from Samsung OTA.
Samsung Galaxy S3 OTA update released, not Jelly Bean
The update is said to offer more stability, fix some bug issues, provide an increase to the life of the battery and give screen brightness adjustments from the notification bar. The baseband for the update is I747MVLLH1 and the build of the OS is IMM76D.1747MVLALH1 Android 4.0.4. Now take note that this has nothing to do with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Samsung Galaxy S3 owners are still in the dark regarding Jelly Bean and it looks like it may be a good couple of weeks before anything more is said.
Now back to the maintenance update, if you have the Samsung Galaxy S3 with an un-rooted ROM then you should be getting the OTA notification very soon. Otherwise you are able to check for the update by heading into Settings, About Device and then choosing Software update.
Those who are running their device on a rooted ROM will have to be patient and wait until the developer chooses to package the update and send it your way.
