Samsung had finally confirmed at the IFA in Berlin this week that the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is on its way very soon.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update confirmed coming very soon
This makes sense as they announced their Samsung Galaxy Note 2 along with the new Galaxy camera and these will have Jelly Bean when they are released. Therefore we can assume that Jelly Bean should have had all the kinks worked out of it and be ready for the Samsung Galaxy S3, as well as putting rumors of delays to rest.
One thing to bear in mind is that while the update may be classed as finished it is the carriers that will have to give final approval for the update. On the downside it is likely that if you are a customer of Verizon you may be among the last to get the Samsung Galaxy S3 update as we see with the Galaxy Nexus right now. They are known not to rush into things when it comes to updates.
It is thought that international users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get the Jelly Bean update first and this should then be followed by T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint, with Verizon following on.
