Galaxy S3 & iPhone 5 Killer May Arrive In January After All

If you’re looking to buy the next best smartphone on the market, then you will be well aware of rumors of the Sony Yuga.

Sony Yuga to “attack” iPhone 5 & Samsung Galaxy S3 earlier than expected

At this time, the two best smartphones on the market are arguably the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3, and they are expected to remain so until their successors launch i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 6 (or 5S). Now there have been rumors regarding both upcoming smartphones and on top of the list is more powerful quad-core processors, 13MP rear cameras and 1080p displays. While you may to wait until sometime in April for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and possibly June for the iPhone 6, Sony recently made waves with a device codenamed “Yuga” that appearently already boasts these features in one sexy looking smartphone.

Now BGR reports that the Sony Yuga may come out as the Xperia Z and make its debut at CES, which is just days away. What’s even more interesting is that according to the source, it may go on sale just days later.

The Sony Yuga is speculated to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor, Adreno 320 graphics, 5-inch full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080, 2GB of RAM, microSD card slot, and a 13-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS CMOS sensor.

These top end specs will no doubt give the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 a run for its money, but surprisingly also possibly its successors if rumors are to be believed. And if does launch in January, it has a solid head start over its rival’s successors. This is a big deal as we saw with the case of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 last year.

Other leaked details about the Sony Xperia Z include a unibody frame, glass black, IP55 and IP57 ratings for water and dust resistance and a unique display technology usually reserved for top-end displays to reduce glare.
