Now that the iPhone 5 specs are official, we’ve seen numerous tech blogs compare its specs against the current reigning smartphone champ, the Samsung Galaxy S3. The first thing you will notice is that both devices have almost identical specs.
iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3: iPhone 5 wins by “narrow margin”
Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 have high-resolution displays, LTE, powerful dual-core processors, decent battery life, 8-megapixel cameras and leading edge design. So how do you pick? The folks over at WirelessWeek (WW) have weighed in and come up with a verdict which may upsets some folks.
WW says that if they have to choose a handset out of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 they would have to choose the iPhone 5 by a “narrow margin”.
Why? The iPhone will be a reliable handset just as all the others have been. It gets top points for its hardware and software reliability along with a design that is strong, LTE speed and a camera that has gotten better with age. Of course the new iOS 6 is a huge plus and the iPhone now comes with turn-by-turn navigation.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 on the other hand also has some innovative features but it does suffer from trip ups sadly and these mean a less smooth experience. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is customizable thanks to Android 4.0 and soon Jelly Bean, but it can be too much for some users adds WW.
The iPhone 5 has a superb 4 inch Retina display which while not as large as the 4.8 inches of the Super AMOLED of the S3, does provide lifelike pictures and video while remaining pocketable and easy on all hand sizes.
