The iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nokia Lumia 920 are three of the best handsets to have been released this year so far. But which comes out on top? Well tech blog CNET believes they have the results and have picked the iPhone 5. So why did they choose the Apple phone over the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nokia Lumia 920?

iPhone 5 beats out Samsung Galaxy S3 & Nokia Lumia 920 (CNET)

Just like all the other iPhones, the iPhone 5 is set to be a reliable handset that has great hardware and software installed suggests CNET. The design cannot be faulted in any way and the handset now comes with LTE support. The camera has also been upgraded despite being 8MP still, and there is now turn by turn navigation among other additions thanks to the latest iOS 6.

Now the Nokia Lumia 920 has NFC, which the iPhone does not and it also has wireless charging. The display is excellent but it is let down thanks to Nokia Maps claims the blog. The camera on the Lumia 920 does not meet expectations of many despite PureView technology either.

Lastly we have the powerful Samsung Galaxy S3 which has introduced some superb features and innovations but it is let down by the trip-ups that commonly occur which deter from a smooth user experience. CNET was referring to their encounters with force closes and hangs ups. Some of the features on the Samsung Galaxy S3 are also supposedly complicated to use and defeat the effort needed to set them up. There also functions that are non-universal and you can only use with other Galaxy S3 users.

Strong points no doubt. Check out CNET’s full comparison between the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nokia Lumia 920 here to better understand how they reached their final verdict.
