Samsung Galaxy S3 & iPhone 5: Brothers In Arms

By  |

While there are a sea of smartphone to pick from on the market now, there seem to be just two devices that are moving the competition down like its business as usual – the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5. Both devices appear to be the only smartphones worth having right now.

Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 go unchallenged

There is no room for a story about the iPhone and Blackberry or Android and iPhone or even the iPhone and Windows Phone 8. The only thing that matters right now is two devices; if you want a top of the range handset then it has to be a choice between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Samsung hit the spot when they released the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the summer and they made many people turn away from the rumored iPhone 5, at that time, and go out and get the handset. They are the only company that are able to stand up to the dominance of Apple and challenge it. the Samsung Galaxy S3 emerged as the only competitor to the iPhone 4S at the time and it sold more than 20 million units, and is still going strong. This is more units than the majority of Android devices sell over a year. This number could also shoot up even more thanks to the ingenious ad campaign of Samsung, comparing the S3 to the newer iPhone 5.

Each year handsets are released that try and copy the hype Apple or Samsung bring, with makers holding fancy events to show them off, which generally fail. The event of the Droid Razr felt forced, with executives that seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than up on the stage. There was a lack of excitement compared to any Samsung event, let alone one of Apple’s.

There is also a wild card emerging in the shape of the Nokia Lumia 920 running Windows Phone 8. The phone looks great, but we doubt if it will be in the same league as the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy S3. Windows phones may have gained in popularity with critics, but they still fail when it comes to the general public. This device is not thought to be launching until November at the very earliest and not much is known about Windows Phone 8 yet.

Apple of course is the kings of promotion and they always talk about choices. This is such as faster processor, more memory and bigger screens. However, is this what the consumer really wants to hear? All they want is the best handset, the most amazing device on the market. They don’t want to have to choose between a dozen variations of handsets.

Quite simply if you want to get your hands on the most amazing handset out there, all you have to do is choose between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. They both have good and bad points, but you will be happy to own either of these superb devices so don’t crack your head over the numerous other options out there right now.
