Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.1 Update: Where Art Thou?

By  |

We know by now that updating handsets to the latest version of Android isn’t always as easy as we would like it to be. This is due to the fact that carriers tend to hold on to the firmware. One of the devices that have caused stress amongst users is the Samsung Galaxy S3, with some users having to wait for a long time for the firmware to roll out. It now seems that the update to Android 4.2 point may take a while yet.

Most of the Samsung Galaxy S3 handsets have version 4.1 .2 installed, however it has been said that 4.2.1 has leaked before it has been made official. Users can get this as the custom ROM and for the most part it works, however there are some minor bugs.

Rumour has it that the software is being tested by Samsung and it will be released officially until after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Rumours have said that the device will be launched 14th of March. The latest firmware will bring many improvements, these include new lockscreen widgets, voice command, daydream, and improvements to the ripple effect on the lock screen, there are new notifications which are now more actionable and additions have been made to the notification centre.

Some mobile has given users instructions on how to flash the ROM, however bear in mind that you do this at your own risk.
