We asked our Samsung Galaxy S3 owning readers if they’re still pleased with their phone, or if the Jelly Bean delays have marred their experience a bit. Jelly Bean is now out and about on all US networks apart from US Cellular, which hasn’t even given a ball park figure for an ETA.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update
So, US Cellular punters are still waiting around while their chums on other networks like Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are enjoying Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But wait, there’s more.
Samsung says it’s going to look at the portfolio of existing phones waiting for the next update, Android Jelly Bean 4.2, and also that the update is in the pipeline already meaning that integration work has started. There’s confirmation that existing Samsung phones will get Android 4.2, so this means that the Samsung Galaxy S3, as Samsung’s flagship, is guaranteed to be on the list.
Samsung has always been a bit slow with updates, so Samsung Galaxy S3 owners might still have to wait.
Android 4.2 brings PhotoSphere and gesture Typing, alongside loads of minor tweaks and additions. Samsung has already looked at the 4.2 portfolio and we can assume that alongside the Samsung Galaxy S3 the Note 2 is also there on top. However, there’s no definite say as to whether the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the original Note will be updated past 4.1.1 which they are still awaiting.
